Murals by Jessica Borchert

Bloom, 732 Liberty Street, Erie, PA

Created on the Safer Walking Routes, Bloom was inspired by the community’s desire to have a childlike sense of joy and representation of BIPOC individuals.

Borchert’s use of projection helps create the mural from her original design.

DACA Dreamers Butterfly, McKinley Elementary

McKinley Elementary in Erie, PA has a large population of students who are immigrants. Inspired by the Dreamer’s Butterfly design, Borchert hopes to foster a sense of hope and belonging. When looking closely, there are fingerprints by students and teachers to symbolize the support for marginalized student population.

Borchert’s use of white chalk creates an outline for the mural.

East Avenue Vortex, Erie, PA

As mural assistant to Alex Ann Allen, Borchert helped bring Allen’s design to life on the Safer Walking Route to School.
